So what is Royal Jelly?

Royal jelly is a thick and paste like substance secreted by working honeybees to feed and nurture Queen bees. This contains high concentrations of many nutrients that are beneficial to humans.  Primary components of Royal Jelly are major proteins including all the amino acids. Amino acids are a component of collagen, which keeps the skin firm.

In a nutshell, Royal Jelly’s skin benefits are for anti-ageing due to the collagen boost needed by our skin to promote tissue repair along with anti oxidants, flavonoids, hormones, enzymes and other skin nutrient necessities for would healing and cell renewal.

Thoughts:

Used at night after my cleanse, tone then moisturized with aloe vera gel. I applied this mask to lock in my skin’s moisture. Winter is coming and my oily combination skin started becoming dry and “flakey”. The mask contained “Royal Jelly Extract” , jojoba seed oil (anti ageing skin bebefits) and witch hazel (calm irritated skin and remove excess sebum).

Skintype: Oily/combo & sensitive. Currently with dry patches on the sides of my nose and some on the cheek area.

Essence: Clear and lightweight jelly type in texture. Dried to a slightly tacky finish and took about 10 mins to completely dry after using the mask.

Mask: Material was soft and cotton textured. Soaked in essence. It fit my face perfectly even though there was just a few cutting lines noted on the mask. Specifically on the jaw area.

My skin after: Left it on for 20 minutes. The essence dried up quickly and it only took me about 20 mins to sit on my skin as the mask was loosing it’s adherence onto my face especially on the chin and nose area. After using it, my skin felt so moisturized, plum and supple. After leaving the essence to partially dry, I noticed some of my inflammed bumps decreased in size. My skin felt soft and smooth too with all the dry patches gone.

Rating:🍑🍑🍑🍑/5.

Effectiveness🍑 It moisturized, made my skin soft, plump and supple. Like most sheet masks.

Packaging🍑 Okay, the color helped in differentiating the masks. Yellow was my fave color out of the bunch.

Price🍑 Very affordable at $1.50

Availability🍑 Purchased mine at my local DAISO.

Score interpretation:

Itibiti Yogurt mask review. Really smells like sweet yogurt!

Hello beauties! I hope everyone’s Friday is going well.

Today’s something is a Yogurt Mask by the brand ItibitiFirst off, let’s talk about the packaging! It really reminds me of YAKULT! A probiotic drink I use to love when I was growing up. I was browsing Althea.kr when I saw this very interesting mask go on sale. I didn’t really expect anything over the top from this mask. I  purchased two individual masks priced at $1.80 each .It was originally priced at $3.10.

I assumed the mask was just another gimmick to attract more buyers but once I tried it, I really loved how the mask felt. It was so soft. It had the consistency of a hydrogel and cotton mask. Soaked in jelly like essence that was clear and  it smelled like sweet yogurt. One thing to mention about this mask was that it was so delicate and really stretchy. I had to keep a light hand in applying it. The scent was a really sweet yogurt.

How to use:

  1. Cleanse face, tone then moisturize if desired.
  2. Leave mask on a clean face for 10-20 minutes.
  3. Gently pat remaining essence on face and neck. Do not rinse.

The Mask

The mask was soaked in so much essence. It was rather thin to touch and stretches quickly! I had to put it on my face before it widens. If I had to play around with it for pictures, it could have just over stretched. That’s how thin and soft the mask was. The mask in general had a mesh like type appearance and was more textured on the outer layer. The inner layer was really soft similar to a hydrogel type of mask. It was like hydrogel and cotton mask combined.

Mask Fitting

The cutting lines of the mask was really huge on the eyes and mouth area.  I tried spreading it out a bit but the mask would overstretch so I just placed it on. There where only a few slits of the mask which were located on each side of the lower cheek area.

Essence

Clear  jelly like texture and lightweight. The essence was easily absorbed on my skin. I was thinking the essence would come in a yellowish to cream in color because it really reminded me of the yakult drink, but it was just clear. For the “non greasiness” claims, I could still feel the tacky after mask effect but it was not “as sticky”.

My skin type:

Oily combination skin. My T-zone (forehead, nose and chin area) tends to get oily during the day and I get dry patches on the sides of my nose, cheek area and along the edges of my lips.

Thoughts

Moisturizing and nourishing indeed! I enjoyed this mask a lot. I love the scent, the texture despite the mask over stretching and nearly breaking apart. It was so light and soft to touch. After my nightly skincare routine, I slapped this mask on then left it for about 30 minutes. The mask was still damp after but I had to pull it out to avoid the reverse sheet mask effect (sheetmasks may dry out your skin if left on more than instructed, hence the reverse effect). My skin was immediately brighter in complexion and very moisturized. The inflammed bumps on my face reduced in size and my skin felt so soft and smooth to touch until the next day. Perfect for adding more moisture for dehydrated skin and preventing dry patches which I always get during the cooler months. The only downside of the mask was the fitting of it and how it overstretches if mishandled. A tip for that is to apply the mask immediately to prevent ruining the mask. I would highly recommend this for all skin types.

Packaging:🍑 On point! I have to admit that I tried this mask because I liked the packaging.
