Happy hearts month everyone! Valentines is everywhere and I mean as early as January, hearts are displayed everywhere! What a great reminder to not be “single”.
Anyways, Welcome to another EYESEESOMETHING! Today’s topic is about a kit that was HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by the lovely people of the internet so I had to try it for myself to SEE if this lovely product works for me!
Before we begin with the review, let me just say something about my skin history. As you guys can already tell form my previous reviews, I have acne scars (very prominent ones) all over my face. I tried lightening/brightening masks, serums and creams just to fade them out but none of them seem to work. As much as I would want to consult a dermatologist, I prefer not to because I don’t think it’s practical for me (just sayin’) but by all means, you guys should consult a dermatologist especially if acne is a big concern of yours. I was contemplating to purchase this BANISH KIT for months because it seem to work in all skintypes. My skin is very sensitive and I mean SENSITIVE! Even coconut oil irritates my face causing bumps! So despite that, I decided to purchase this kit and share a little bit of my thoughts on how it worked on my oily/combination plus very sensitive skin. Again, this post is not sponsored.
Purchased this kit for $75.( And yes it was a really expensive purchase!) So is it WORTH IT TO BUY?
The kit was neatly packaged in this really “classic” looking black and sheer pouch. I found it really nice to see all the product neatly packed.
The kit consisted of the following items:
You guys might be asking, WHAT ON EARTH DOES THIS BANISH THINGY DO?????
According to their site, the primary purpose of this kit is to:
“Get rid of blemishes – old and new, the natural and pain-free way? Yes, please! The Banisher’s titanium bristles create micro channels that can’t be seen by the eye to revitalize skin! Use with the Banish Oil to seal the deal!”
So in a nutshell, If you suffer from post-acne scars (due to excessive squeezing of pimples) this procedure promotes skin repair with the help of the vitamin serum to renew skin cells then eventually removing acne scars.
Also known as DERMAROLLING (The secret to eliminate imperfections is by rebuilding collagen fibers beneath your skin. Dermaroller is a popular device used in skin needling treatment. It is a tiny cylindrical drum studded with micro-needles which can be rolled into the skin.)
Before using the BANISHER, it was clearly noted to soak it first in rubbing alcohol for atleast 5 minutes then allowing to dry before using it onto the face.
How to use:
Use the Banisher (roller) once every 2 weeks to help renew skin. Apply the Banish oil after dermarolling.
Banisher Roller – Recommended for those who want to reduce the appearance of textured skin, and reduce the appearance of blemishes. Use once every 2 weeks Can be used on face or body. Do not use over active breakouts. Banishers should be replaced after 3 to 4 uses to prevent bacteria from building up on it. –banishacnecars.com
****Do not use Banisher over Active Acne. Use Banish oil daily or every other day for best results and avoid sun exposure while using the Banisher. ****
The kit comes with a little instruction guide card that I lost, so here’s a step by step procedure on how to use the kit according to banishacnecars.com
After using the banish roller, apply the banish oil
Ingredients of the Banish Oil:
Glycerin, 99.9% Pure Grade L-Ascorbic (Vitamin C) acid, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Certified Organic Filet of Aloe Vera), hamamelis virginiana extract (made from Certified Organic Witch Hazel) Ferulic Acid, Tocopherol (Vitamin E),Rosa Centifolia (Rose) Flower Water, Rosehip Oil, Grapefruit Seed Extract, citric acid. -banishacnecars.com
I used this kit once week initially for the first month then once every two weeks for the following month.
After cleansing my face with a very mild cleanser ( Innisfree’s Jeju volanic clay cleansing foam), I then “rolled” the banisher all over my face avoiding sensitive areas such as near my eyes, sides of my nose and areas with active bumps. Initially, my skin did turn a bit red but after using it for a while, the irritations decreased. I also did not apply pressure while using the banisher or banish roller. Only gentle and upward strokes on areas with hyperpigmentations or acne scars.
Lastly I applied the the banish oil which stinged by the way. But according to most reviews, it was a “normal reaction”. The oil contained vitamin C which would explain the pain on open areas. Basically the banisher micro tears the skin to initiate renewal and along with the serum accelerates skin repair then reducing the acne scars.
So I continued using the Banish kit for almost 3 months now and my skin surprisingly cleared up! My skin did look fairer after the whole process. I did not use any makeup or moisturizer while using the banish kit and I always. . .I mean always! Applied sunscreen every time I expose myself to the harmful sun rays. My sunblock of choice was the Skinfood’s Tomatoe Suncream spf 50.
Using less makeup did help my skin a lot for the past months along with this Banish Kit. I prefer using the Banish oil at night since it was “oil based” and I’m now trusting my oily/combination face to behave during the day.
Overall, I give this BANISH KIT A BIG THUMBS UP for helping my skin! This is totally worth buying! My skin glows and was really smooth too!
That’s all for today’s post! Until the next something!
