Hello beauties! Today is another sheet mask day! Featuring B&SOAP Premium Metal Aqua Mask. I purchased this baby at Althea.kr for $1.75 plus shipping. They had a catchy claim “Change at one burst with metal mask!”. This is my first time ever trying a metal sheet mask! So I’m super duper excited to test this one out! I mean a “METAL SHEET MASK?”. Really?
The ad kinda say’s it all, but for review purposes lemme type it down for ya. The mask came in a super “basic” packaging with an image of a silver mask. If I’m not mistaken, they have two variants: Premium Metal Snow(white packaging) & Premium Metal Aqua(black packaging). This variant in particular; Premium Metal Aqua had the Glossy Aqua Mask.
Silver coated mask highly enriched in essence. Not a heavy thick mask. Metal mask sheet that perfectly stick to contours of the face with not dry up. Moisturizing water light like a diamond that prevents wrinkles. Formulated with seawater for soothing and moisture. Hyaluronic acid for moisture and anti-ageing. 17 kinds of amino acids namely: Glycine, Glutamic Acid, Lysine, Leucine, Methione, Valine, Serine, Cysteine, Aspartic Acid, Alanine, Arginine, Isoeucine, Tyrosine, Threonine, Phenylalanine, Proline and Histidine. Adenosine to help with wrinkles and promote soft skin. This mask gives an instant boost skin brightening with anti-ageing benefits. Lastly, After just one use, this mask will give your skin a long lasting moisture. Recommended for those with dry, dull, and with wrinkles. Just after 10 minutes your skin will feel a boost of moisture.
Directions for use:
- Cleanse, tone then moisturize face if desired.
- Take the mask out of the pack then apply it for 10-20 mins.
- Remove the mask then let the skin absorb the remaining essence. No need to rinse off.
Right out of the pack, I was surprised to see the mask soaked in essence! It contained half a palm of extra essence as I squeezed the pack. I have oily to combination skin so I’m expecting a lot of hydration from this mask since it clearly indicated that it was for dry skin types. It had a mild scent similar to baby wipes. There were several slits on the mask designed to fit any face shape. Of course, this ain’t “metal” instead, it was more like “foil” . The outer layer of the mask seem to have the foil like texture. The inner layer had a sheath of cotton that acts a cushion to protect the skin. Which was great considering the fact that most sheet mask are left on the skin to dry up the essence. If this mask was purely rough, the skin would and may get irritated but fortunately it didn’t!
Foil sheet masks was created with the theory of penetrating the mask formula to the skin more as compared to cotton sheet masks. Hence giving the skin more moisture. The texture of the mask was very similar to the foil lining found at lunch bags or food bags. But nonetheless, this mask is in no way in the same formula as kitchen foil. It was soft, adhered to my face perfectly, did not itch or produce any heat of some sort (since I thought it would give off a warm sensation).
Most foil mask trap the heat inside preventing the formula to escape. This mask was not purely made of foil since the inner layer had a cotton layer over it hence, no heat was trapped which is a plus for me since I’m a not a fan of the “heated mask” trend. The mask sat on my skin for 45 mins. After using it, I had a very well moisturized face to almost a “dewy” look. The essence was lightweight but it made my skin feel a bit sticky. The only thing that bothered me was the marks left on by the mask since it had a different structure. It had dents similar to duct tape. I did not feel any tightening or redness after nor see any dramatic difference onto my fine lines. The next morning, I noticed a very subtle glow on my skin. It was so soft and still smooth. This mask was great for hydrating the face overnight perfect for summer! Overall I will repurchase this mask!
