Today, let’s talk about sheet mask. Summer not only heats up the place, it also dehydrates my skin. So I added another player in my skincare routine! I have oily to combination skin type just to put it out there. Sheet masks are face-shaped sheet fabrics soaked in nutrition-packed solution called serum. The sheet is made up of variety of materials including papers, fibers or gel types. Sheet mask is generally used once and it is individually packaged, making them fast, convenient, and easy to use. This particular sheet mask is from Biorepublic.
For sheet mask, I personally prefer aloe vera. I stay away from creamy and heavy soaked serum masks because my skin gets a bit irritated especially those with honey. Up to now, I really don’t know why. Just sharin’ guys, so let’s move on to the review.
The mask claims to revitalize the skin, Infused with natural aloe vera extract, phytocollagen and vitamin E. All of which are great for: soothing dry skin, perfect for after sun use. ( I got mine in the after sun btw). Provides immediate hydration and gives a healthy, revitalized and lush skin. The mask snugly fits the contours of my face. They are also formulated WITHOUT parabens, sulfates, pthalates and triclosan. So that’s a triple plus for me! It’s 100% cruelty free and each mask contains 1/ 2 a bottle of skin revitalizing serum. I pat the excess all over my neck and chest.
It has a scent that smells like aloe vera but it’s not that strong so it does not bother me. Nothing too strong or perfumey.
The mask texture:
It came in a typical sheet mask that was tissue-fiber like texture but really soft on the skin. Maybe The mask was really soaked in serum (which I like). I wiped the excess serum all over my neck. The serum was so smooth and clear. As I touched my face, I can tell that there was moisturizing properties and the best part was that it was not sticky!
- Unfold the mask and apply to clean skin.
- Wear mask and relax for 15-20 mins.
- Remove and massage the serum into the skin. No need to rinse!
The mask specifically instructed not to use it if you have broken skin and to discontinue immediately if you experience any redness, irritation, sensitivity or allergic reaction of any kind.
Overall I would give this mask a 9/10! I love the formulation. It did not irritate my skin rather it made it so moisturized and hydrated after a good soak of 20 mins. I prefer using sheet mask at night before bedtime. I gave it a minus 1 for the price. Kinda expensive for a one time use mask. But don’t worry, I got you! I’ll be posting on more affordable masks, so keep posted. =)
What sheet mask have you guys tried? I’d love to know!
