Shimmer and shine in all the right places! This product was so hyped I had to test it out for myself. They compared it to high end make up I can’t even pronounce or afford! But not to say never. =)
This drugstore highlighter was priced at $5. Cheap radar on =)
This compact has four illuminating shades on the face, neck, chest and body.
Packaging is acrylic. The compact is sealed and taped to the bottom pan.
Bottom pan with the product details and the ingredients. It was 0.405 oz product.
There are four shades arranged from the lightest to the darkest pigment but all are so beautiful in color pay offs. All colors may be used to highlight the brow bone or any high points of the face. I tried mixing the colors and it still made a wearable highlight color.
Since it was a powder highlight, it was prone to fall outs. Upon swatching the product, the color pay off was amazing! It had a decent sized shimmer that was so natural looking upon application and it felt super smooth. No wonder this had gone missing on shelves in store. I had to get one to know what the fuzz is all about this highlighter.
This is a side by side comparison of the highlights, as you can see the highlighting powder was the lightest but had a great shimmer while the illuminating pallete had more color pigment than shimmer. But all worked well when worn on the face. It made a natural glow from within shine. It was also buildable if you wanted more shimmer. It had silver shimmers that didn’t shock the face that much but gave a subtle glow.
Wet N Wild Megaglow highlighter in precious petals
The packaging was still acrylic and had a tape to seal the pan. I got the shade in precious petals which was a champagne rose color with tiny silver shimmers.
The bottom part presented the list of ingredients.
It had a floral or petal design thus the name precious petals.
This product was a powder highlight and very prone to fall outs. I thing once I drop this the powder would just crack and spill. Although it was creamy and smooth upon application, it slowly diffuses within the day. But it still has great color pay off.
Upon swatching this product, it gave off a natural looking glow. I have a warm undertone and this shade was perfect for me. As you can see, the shimmer is not that obvious giving it a natural glow effect which I love. This gives me enough sparkle for one day.
Compared to the illuminating palette, this precious petals had more shimmer and less color pigment ideal for a high light effect. Both highlighters are great in pigment and very affordable. The size of each pan would last a year or so since I usually high light my face ever so lightly. All in all this is one of the best drugstore finds I’ve tried.
